The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will work from the Mitie offices at Gibraltar primarily, however the nature of the appointment will require regular travel as dictated by their wide portfolio of project work.
Support the AFP Programme Director as directed on all projects as required, applying their technical skill set to overcome and solution complex requirements.
Lead on project overview, co-ordination, management and delivery in full compliance with legislative requirements and the Mitie Health and Safety Policy and quality system

Main Duties
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading all aspects of project management lifecycle to ensure successful delivery of projects for Stakeholders and Customers in compliance with the contract and governance arrangements.
To act as Principal Contractor and take ownership of the project from inception to handover
There is an ongoing broad portfolio of estate and infrastructure projects. The incumbent will take responsibility for meeting the costs, time, functionality and quality objectives of projects and must ensure comprehensive risk and value management techniques are applied throughout the project lifecycle with comprehensive, accurate and timely project reporting to all the Stakeholders.
The Senior Project Manager must work effectively in a collaborative environment to ensure they have a detailed understanding of client requirements, whilst also guiding in developing technical, commercial and functional objectives to add value wherever possible. Achievement of success will require adept communication, negotiation and collaboration skills with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Project Manager will need a detailed understanding of mandated and best-practice project processes and procedures.
Develop positive, supportive working relationships with Mitie colleagues and other work-related professionals (external consultants), the Defence lnfrastructure Organisation (DI0), Estates Requirements and Land Management Services.

What we are looking for
Extensive background as a Project Manager with demonstrable experience in a complex construction or refurbishment project delivery environment.
ldeally experienced in working on the UK Defence estate with experience and knowledge of construction standards and the NEC 3 suite of contracts (Professional Services and Construction) of benefit.
Membership of a construction related institute e.g. RICS/CIOB/RIBA/CIBSE/MIET or ??? preferable
Technical qualification in a relevant discipline and/or project management in addition to a H&S qualification.
Proven leadership, influencing and decision-making skills, excellent 3rd party management and stakeholder management skills
* Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software applications (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
