Equans is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company car or allowance, bonus, and benefits package.





This senior role is key to the EQUANS projects team to ensure the projects function is fully supported, the SPM will be responsible for defined region/area and provide management of a defined team of project reports (APM's and PM's). Demonstratable line Management skills will be required to ensure level of skill and experience is in place to take on affective management of a small team.



The SPM will need to be responsible and take direct ownership for any challenging / failing projects where there is risk to commercial, financial and H&S matters. This may be on MOJ CAPEX projects or HMCTS revenue projects, and/or in supporting the wider EQUANS business.



This role requires substantial and demonstrable experience in driving projects at a senior level, being able to oversee projects to deconflict any delivery challenges, provide agile solutions to problems, ability to act with decisiveness.



This Senior role will be supporting our customer on new initiatives and driving opportunity, will need to assure confidence in our delivery model and capability and ensure relationships are maintained and built in spirit of acting as a trusted advisor.


What will you deliver?




Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and wider Equans team alike Provide clear and affective communication, both written and verbal Provide both clarity of instruction and consistently in delivery to inspire confidence Take lead on localised reporting for area under responsibility, hence, ensuring preparation, planning, and clear and concise reports are to hand for projects within the area under control Work closely with the Head of Projects to ensure resources are in place locally and managed efficiently to deliver against a pre-defined caseload of projects Work with commercial function to manage tenders and proposals, directly impact, before, during and post governance to ensure projects are developed and controlled in line with Equans governance procedure Responsible for generating and securing new sales to help support the annual financial plan Ensure that all projects adhere and are managed to commercial agreements / contracts. They must comply with statutory regulations, are SHEQ compliant and meet technical industry standards Deliver supportive business communication through advice, review, leadership and direct contribution to management team meetings, briefings, consultation forums, correspondence, publicity, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and other applications as appropriate Develop effective relationships with current and potential customers through demonstrating our capability in project delivery solutions Build strong relationships with supply partners through which we can bring innovation to our customers

Who are we looking for?




Strong influencing and negotiation skills Present with assurance and confidence Understand commercial and financial metrics Internal and external customer management Knowledge of the construction market Project management methodology Broad understanding of construction Health and Safety law and legislation Understanding of general financial terminology Previous project management experience in a senior capacity, either an M&E, FM ,construction or critical environment Previous experience of proven line management responsibility Able to travel to meet the needs of the role requires
