Cotswold Friends is a local charity based in Moreton-in-Marsh, providing vital services such as Community Transport, Befriending, Carer Wellbeing and Community Activities for older and vulnerable people across the Cotswolds. We aim to combat loneliness and isolation. Our voluntary services improve health and wellbeing and support independent living. We currently support over 2,600 people, with 24 staff and over 300 volunteers.

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Project Manager
to lead key projects spanning business efficiency, data and reporting, compliance, digital innovation, environmental and key service support.
Role Purpose
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, delivering, and embedding a range of strategic and operational projects that enhance organisational performance. The role will lead complex initiatives--including efficiency improvements, data reporting enhancements, GDPR and governance projects, AI audit and policy development, environmental planning and key service-led change.
This is a senior role requiring strong project leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work together across all charity teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead the end-to-end management of strategic and operational projects, ensuring clear scope, plans, budgets, and timelines.
Support charity services (Community Transport, Community Activities, Support Services and Volunteering) with key projects and service developments.
Deliver projects that improve charity efficiency, streamline processes, and strengthen cross-team collaboration.
Oversee the design and implementation of data and impact reporting improvements, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with charity objectives.
Manage GDPR and wider data protection initiatives to maintain compliance and strengthen data governance.
Lead the charity's AI audit and the creation and rollout of AI-related governance, risks assessments, and responsible-use policies.
Plan and further develop the charity's environmental initiatives
You will:
Work closely with the CEO and Management Team to agree project objectives and success measures.
Facilitate cross-department engagement to ensure co-design, alignment, and smooth implementation.
Influence and challenge constructively to ensure positive change, team involvement and cohesion throughout project lifecycles.
Project Governance & Reporting
Develop and maintain project documentation, including business cases, risk assessments and project plans.
Monitor and report on progress, risks, issues, and financials to the CEO.
Ensure that continuous improvement practices are embedded.
Leadership & Change Management
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organisation.
Provide guidance and support to colleagues involved in project delivery, encouraging best practice.
Lead change-management activities, ensuring staff are fully involved, understand new ways of working and feel supported throughout.
Person Specification
Essential
Extensive project management experience at a senior level.
Proven track record delivering complex projects from inception to completion.
Experience managing organisational change.
Strong understanding of business process improvement and organisational efficiency.
Experience working with data reporting, data governance, and GDPR compliance projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to analyse complex information, make sound decisions, and provide clear recommendations.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Experience using formal project management methodologies or willing to learn
Clean driving licence and willing to travel
Desirable
Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
Understanding of safeguarding, service delivery operations, or regulated environments.
Knowledge of AI technologies, risks, and governance, or experience developing digital/technology policy.
Project management qualifications.
What We Offer
Location: Moreton in Marsh / Hybrid, minimum of two days a week in Moreton office
Salary: 18.00 per hour
Contract: Part-time, 24 hours per week, 12-month contract (possibility to extend subject to funding)
