Job Description

On behalf of AWE, we are looking for Senior Project Manager x2 - Inside IR35 for a 12 Month contract based Hybrid - Remote & 1-2x p/week in Aldermaston, Reading.

Their role in nuclear deterrence and their specialist technical assistance to nuclear threat reduction is vital in the defence against the most serious threats faced by the UK. As a Senior Project Manager your main responsibilities will be to:

Lead on strategic change and transformation initiatives across finance, HR, and procurement functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Provide direction and oversight for project governance, resource allocation, and compliance reporting. Set the vision and planning framework for major change programmes, ensuring delivery against agreed milestones. Champion benefits realisation by aligning change initiatives with measurable performance outcomes. Guide risk and opportunity management strategies, ensuring proactive mitigation and decision-making. Influence and engage senior stakeholders to drive alignment, secure buy-in, and remove barriers to change.

DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

You'll have:

Demonstrable Senior Project Management experience. Senior stakeholder engagement experience (C-Suite). Technical delivery experience. APM qualification - essential.
