Senior Project Manager, Software, Implementation

Job Description


Our client a leading Global Marketing and Information Solutions Provider are seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager with a background in delivering Software related projects. You will have delivered projects to the value of \xc2\xa38-10 million and upwards ideally within the Public Sector. You will bring the below skill set:

Over 4 years\' experience of managing significant scale, complex projects through the full project lifecycle with internal and/or external clients.
\xe2\x96\xaa A track record of consistently delivering projects on time, on budget, and to high quality.
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong business analysis, project scoping, and estimating experience.
\xe2\x96\xaa Good understanding of project management methodologies, governance procedures and the software development lifecycle with demonstrable experience of having effectively applied agile and waterfall project management principles successfully.
\xe2\x96\xaa Experience of managing multi-site projects and dispersed project teams.
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong familiarity with project management and software development software tools, methodologies, and best practice.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to communicate effectively externally and internally at all levels.
\xe2\x96\xaa Strong influencing, negotiation, and supplier management skills.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to adapt communication, engagement, and leadership approach to the audience.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ability to plan and manage a complex workload and meet deadlines.
\xe2\x96\xaa Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
\xe2\x96\xaa Excellent attention to detail.
\xe2\x96\xaa Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (including Outlook), Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel.
\xe2\x96\xaa A passion for technology.

Desirable
\xe2\x96\xaa Accreditation in widely used project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, Waterfall, Agile, PMP, etc.
\xe2\x96\xaa Practical experience of successfully managing integrated offshore development teams
\xe2\x96\xaa Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, business, or a related field
\xe2\x96\xaa A background in systems design, development, and implementation.

Project management

\xe2\x96\xaa Ensure that clearly defined objectives and success criteria have been agreed with the customer, that they are communicated across the project team and met during project delivery.
\xe2\x96\xaa Establish the structures, relationships, processes and job roles and responsibilities that ensure the project has the right level of governance to achieve its objectives.
\xe2\x96\xaa Develop a robust plan based on accurate estimates with the right stakeholders and identify and manage intra-project dependencies.
\xe2\x96\xaa Monitor and control Requirements, Scope, Resources, Cost, Time, Progress, Risk and Quality against the plan.
\xe2\x96\xaa Robustly manage change through engaging with all appropriate parties and negotiation with the customer to achieve their project objectives and maximise business opportunity.
\xe2\x96\xaa Protect project commercials through accurate resource management and financial control.



\xe2\x96\xaa Implement risk and issue management processes and engage appropriate stakeholders to ensure effective ownership and action as required. Actively manage and escalate, where required, in a timely manner.
\xe2\x96\xaa Deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive progress reports to provide full project visibility to the Executive Sponsor, Project Board and Customer and organise regular project reviews and ensure that lessons are learned and the necessary changes made in the way the project is delivered to aid continual improvement.
\xe2\x96\xaa Identify the optimal resource requirements set against business needs and the project plan. Ensure the right balance of skills and capabilities are maintained to achieve project objectives. Manage resources effectively and efficiently.
\xe2\x96\xaa Agree the project quality standards and processes with the customer and other stakeholders. Ensure the processes are followed and that the outputs and services meet or exceed the defined standards.
\xe2\x96\xaa Identify key stakeholders by relative impact and influence on the project and ensure communications are managed with them effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
\xe2\x96\xaa Build and manage relationships and dependencies across the project team, the client, partners and suppliers.
\xe2\x96\xaa Clearly identify and communication of supplier/partner deliverables, managing associated contracts and taking appropriate action to ensure deliverables are met.
\xe2\x96\xaa Deliver the project in accordance with the terms of the contract, seeking guidance from legal where appropriate in consultation with the Account Manager. Identify, escalate and support the management of contractual issues in a timely and effective manner.
\xe2\x96\xaa Create a trusting team environment where there is open communication, the team is clear on their individual and collective responsibilities and are fully engaged and supported as necessary.
\xe2\x96\xaa Ensure knowledge and lessons learned are captured, shared and implemented. Build an innovative learning environment to maximise individual and team capability on the project.
\xe2\x96\xaa Support the Business Development team in developing business growth opportunities.
\xe2\x96\xaa Manage and oversee all testing activities ensuring that the solution is fit for purpose and meets the client\'s requirements.
