Position Summary
Benjamin Henry Ltd is a design-led building company delivering high-quality residential projects across Somerset. Our work includes new builds, barn conversions, extensions, and whole-home renovations, all built with an emphasis on craftsmanship, structure, and long-term value.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Senior Project Manager to lead multiple projects, manage a team of in-house tradespeople, and take full responsibility for site-based delivery. You will work closely with the Managing Director and play a key role in ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards, on time, on budget, and with pride.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in carpentry or bricklaying, a high level of organisation, and a desire to take real ownership. You'll also support quoting when needed and have the opportunity to introduce trusted contacts, whether subcontractors, suppliers, or potential clients, as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and oversee the delivery of multiple residential projects (3-4 large + several small)
Ensure all projects are delivered
on time, on budget
, and to quality and design expectations
Lead a team of ~15 tradespeople, allocating tasks and managing day-to-day site operations
Monitor costs, labour, and material usage; manage change and control risk
Solve on-site challenges promptly to maintain project momentum
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout the build process
Use tools such as spreadsheets, Trello, or Smartsheet for planning and reporting
Assist with early-stage quoting and pricing where required
Introduce and manage contacts that support project success or company growth
Report weekly to the Managing Director on progress, issues, and resource planning
Skills & Attributes
Minimum
5 years' experience
running multiple residential/commercial building projects
from start to finish
Hands-on trade background in carpentry or bricklaying is desired
Strong leadership skills and confidence managing site teams
Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
Good working knowledge of

Clear and respectful communicator, able to engage with trades, clients, and consultants
Familiar with tools like Excel, Trello, or Smartsheet (or willing to learn quickly)
Positive, proactive mindset with pride in completing work to a high standard
