PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

A Project Manager is required to work on a complex project, involving stakeholders from several Business Units within Investments, to deliver enhancements to the existing Women in Investments initiative at T. Rowe Price.

The project manager requires a good understanding of an Investment Management firm\xe2\x80\x99s front have proven experience in projects of this nature previously.

The Project Manager will work as a member of the Investments Transformation Office team and will need to be \xe2\x80\x9chands on\xe2\x80\x9d and detailed oriented. It is essential to have good communication skills and ability to build working relationships across several business units within Investments and departments across the wider T. Rowe Price including Human Resources and DE&I to successfully deliver this project.

The senior Project Manager will actively lead, consult and facilitate discussions as required to successfully deliver this project to the required timescales and objectives. This requires an experienced and seasoned project manager with proven delivery experience and a passion to drive a very important initiative for T. Rowe Price which is sponsored by very senior executives.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct a medium to large-scale, complex project with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.
  • Prepare and lead working groups and steering committees.
  • Produce status reports and any other projects artifacts are the required frequency.
  • Take ownership for the production of all project artifacts including requirements documents and operating models.
  • Responsible for the content of all project artifacts ensuring accuracy and accountability enforced through appropriate reviews and signoffs.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value.
  • Validate financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria.
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered.
  • Manage project according to established methodology and standards.
  • Continually update relevant business stakeholders of project status and periodically publish project status reports.
  • Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums.
  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan.
  • Ensure the project meets success parameters and business objectives stated in the project charter.
Experience Required
  • 8+ years Asset Management experience
  • 4+ years Front Office/Portfolio Management project experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and being able to work with people across multiple locations.
  • Experience of facilitating meetings with stakeholders to review and solve key issues.
  • Well organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well with people with varying technical, business, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Experience working with senior management in formal presentations, escalations and issue resolutions.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Ability to translate and simplify complex business and technical concepts.
Ideal Experience
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience
  • Experience of successfully delivery projects or programs for Women in Investments initiatives or other parts of a financial services organization.
  • Experience managing senior sponsors \xe2\x80\x93 4 year minimum
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Technical skills \xe2\x80\x93 Microsoft office including Visio, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation skills particularly to senior management.
  • Preparing and running steering committees.
  • Soft skills to motivate people and navigate a complex global working environment.
  • Likely to have a university degree
  • Likely to have a project management qualification (PMP, Prince II etc)
