Banks\' financing decisions today will determine the kind of world we will live in tomorrow. However, our research has demonstrated that European banks are not yet doing their bit to avert the climate crisis. Through research, engagement, and campaigns, ShareAction\'s banking team advocates for banks to phase out their financing of polluting activities such as fossil fuels and scale up their financing of green assets. We partner with a range of stakeholders, including investors, NGO partners, and indigenous representatives to make this happen.

Position

The Senior Project Officer is to support the Head of Banking Programme in the ongoing management of ShareAction\'s banking standards team. This critical role will involve maintaining good project management processes and systems in place to plan and monitor programme performance and expenditure, supporting our engagement with banks, and provide administrative support to the team as required. You might have a background in administration and/or internal customer service, looking to use those skills to improve your system management in a fast-paced environment.

What you\'ll do (key responsibilities)

Responsible for the development and implementation of existing and new project management processes for the Banking Standards team

  • You will largely be responsible for the effective implementation and maintenance of a \'Monitoring and Evaluation\' strategy for the Banking team.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the Banking Standards\' team records in the project management software Cascade are up to date and leading on data collection across the team and impact reporting for internal and external audiences, including funders.
  • You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a Salesforce page for the Banking Standards team that meets the team\'s needs.
  • You will be responsible for building and maintaining the banks team\'s Mobilise page, where Mobilise is a platform that we will use to communicate with investors interested in engaging with banks on their climate and/or biodiversity strategies.
  • Supporting the effective use of a new Budget tool to be implemented by the Finance team in the coming autumn.
  • With support from the Head of Banking Standards and others in the team, you will be creating and managing the risk register for the Banking Standards team and making sure it stays up to date, this will include flagging any risks to the team as they arise.
  • You will be responsible for identifying and implementing any new systems and processes that would support the smooth running of the team.
Event organising
  • You\'ll be updating the organisation-wide events calendar and helping to organise events aimed at presenting our research reports to banks and other important stakeholders, such as webinars, roundtables, and in-person events, together with others in the team.
  • You\'ll help support the organisation of regular team planning sessions and team days.
Administrative support
  • You\'ll be planning, managing, and delivering relevant projects as required and in a timely manner.
  • As part of our work we send out mass mail outs to banks, for example to ask them to verify data and/or make them aware of a new piece of publication. It will be part of your role to make sure these are sent.
  • You\'ll be responsible for sending occasional and/or regular updates to our Mobilise groups.
  • You\'ll be in charge of the logistics of organising meetings with our focus banks and key strategic partners
  • You\'ll be supporting with other administrative tasks as required, such as note-taking.

Requirements

What you\'ll bring to the team
  • You will have excellent organisational skills, with an ability to multitask.
  • You will have demonstrable experience supporting the development, implementation and/or maintenance of project management processes.
  • You will be a positive, proactive, and enthusiastic team player with a background in supporting other teams and/or individuals.
  • You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to adapt for different format and audiences.
  • You will have a passion for tackling climate chance and/or biodiversity loss and an interest in the finance system and its impact on people and planet.
  • You will have proficiency with common computer software including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • You will have an ability to learn new software quickly, here at ShareAction we use Salesforce as our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and Cascade as our project management software.
It would also be great - but not essential - if you have:
  • Familiarity with budgeting.
  • Experience organising online, hybrid and/or in person events.

Other information

Contract type: 28 hours, 4 day week part-time. Working pattern up for discussion on offer

Who it reports to: Head of Banking Programme

Salary: \xc2\xa333,000 - 37,500 FTE pro rata + 8% pension contribution

ShareAction\'s London office is based in vibrant Aldgate and a short walk from Aldgate East underground. Remote working will remain the norm for many ShareAction staff, with office space available as described in London for those who wish to use it.
