Children's Services have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced project officer/assistant wanting to expand their knowledge and experiences or perhaps make a step to the next level in their career. We are offering a brand new, permanent Senior Project Officer role within the Service Development Team for Children's Services. This role brings an opportunity to support innovation and projects across the service and to support in the development of systems and processes that will support Children's Services performance with a specific lean into SEND support.
The role
What will you be doing?
Providing a professional, high quality project support service within the Service Development Function. This will include support for of a range of strategic and operational projects and being involved in a range of innovation work across the service as well as supporting the Service Development Project Manager with regular reports and submissions for external bodies and being involved in the preparation for any internal/external visits and inspections. There will be a particular focus on our Education Service with providing support for responding to Subject Access Requests, being responsible for the SEND Local Offer, Supporting our joint Local Authority/Heath Graduated Response and updating internal web pages for the use of internal colleagues.
You will work as a key part of the team, using initiative and problem-solving to support the service to achieve its objectives, including the taking of formal notes of meetings where required. As the team expands, there will be some management of project officer colleagues required in the near future, which is built into the JD/PS.
This will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to put their own stamp on the role and to help successfully complete innovation projects, represent the service in various ways and to support in the development of new processes and ways of working for the service, that improve and demonstrate outcomes for the very valuable and important work our teams do.

What's needed?
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience and qualities:
Excellent IT skills (particularly MS Excel) with experience in a range of software plus basic data management/analysis
Knowledge of Children's Services - ideally some knowledge/experience of SEND Services (but not essential)
High drive and enthusiasm for learning new things
Someone who loves to be challenged in their work and do something different each week
Experience of managing a successful team
Experience of supporting projects and/or organising events
Experience of improving and updating media platforms - such as websites
Excellent team-working skills
Attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
Ability to multi-task and prioritise and organise workload despite interruptions
High-level of communication skills with confidence to communicate with colleagues and partners at all levels
Flexible and able to work under pressure
Committed to improving outcomes for children & families
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm (30 mins unpaid lunch break)
The role will be hybrid with some working from home balanced with working in our offices at Time Square, Warrington. Office days will vary depending on what work is on hand. During the induction period, working from the office full time may be required.
