Due to expansion, we are looking for a

Senior Project & Support Technician

to lead the

design, implementation, and delivery of ICT projects

for our clients, primarily within the education and care sectors, while also providing senior-level technical support where required.

This role is

project-led

, with responsibility for taking ownership of client projects from technical design through to delivery, ensuring solutions are secure, robust, and aligned with client requirements and industry best practice.

You will also act as a senior escalation point for complex support issues and provide guidance to junior engineers.

Key objectives include:

Lead and deliver ICT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new implementations. Design and implement safe, robust, and effective ICT solutions for clients. Ensure legal and contractual obligations relating to ICT resources, systems, people, and services are met. Act as a senior technical authority within the ICT Services team.

Personal Specification



An experienced IT professional with strong exposure to the managed service industry and a proven ability to

lead and deliver technical projects

.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a genuine desire to be part of a collaborative team environment. You must be able to prioritise project work alongside senior support responsibilities, taking ownership of complex technical challenges and seeing them through to completion.

You will be eager to become a key technical resource within the business, continuing to grow professionally by developing new skills in line with business requirements and demonstrating those skills through professional certification.

You will also be capable of mentoring junior staff members, supporting their technical development through peer learning and guidance.

Skills Required for This Position Include:



Lead the planning, coordination, and technical delivery of ICT projects. Assist the ICT Service Department with operational issues where required. Act as a technical escalation point for the IT Support Helpdesk. Take ownership of new implementations, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff. Contribute to the ongoing development of ICT services and solutions. Maintain high technical and service delivery standards. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Effective time management to meet project deadlines. Ability to multitask across multiple projects and priorities. Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills. Ability to work well under pressure, particularly during project delivery phases. Full clean UK driving licence with access to a car.

Technical Requirements



Essential



Experience supporting and working with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows and Server 2008-2019). Microsoft Office 365 administration, setup, and migration. Azure services including: Virtual Machines VPNs Azure File Sync Azure Virtual Desktop Hyper-V Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of: Domain Controllers Exchange Servers WDS WSUS Active Directory, Group Policy, Folder Redirection. Core networking services including DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP. Networking infrastructure installation, implementation, and configuration (including VLANs). Minimum of

five years' technical experience in a senior support or project-based role

, ideally within a managed service provider (MSP).

Desirable



Firewall installation and maintenance (Cisco / FortiGate). VoIP telephone system installation and troubleshooting. Remote support experience and ability to coordinate on-site technicians. Azure AZ-104 certification (or working towards).
