Job Description

Are you a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) with post-qualification experience? Are you committed to the care of service users and looking to develop your career in a low-intensity service?



We are recruiting Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners for our Buckinghamshire talking therapies team.



In this role, you will be case-managing a group of PWPs to ensure the quality of their work is maintained, facilitating clinical skills supervision groups, and providing supervision as part of the duty team. You will be supporting our team of trainee and qualified PWPs, as well as working closely with our Step 2 leadership team.



You will offer high-volume evidence-based practice in Guided Self-help (Telephone, Digital, or Face-to-Face) and contribute to the Psycho-educational Courses programme, working with people with common mental health problems. You could also be involved in other work streams or projects.



In return, we offer robust supervision from skilled supervisors and managers, and ongoing Continuing Professional Development, including an annual CPD budget for relevant external training courses.



Conduct telephone screening assessments for clients with common mental health problems, including those with long-term medical conditions, to identify presenting issues and discuss treatment options



Provide high-volume evidence-based practice in guided self-help, computerised CBT, and group programmes, ensuring adherence to the stepped care model



Supervise and mentor qualified and trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, offering caseload management and clinical skills supervision



Assist in the development, support, and training of the low-intensity service provision within Talking Space Plus, contributing to the achievement of key performance indicators such as recovery and access rates



Maintain accurate and coherent records of all clinical activities, ensuring compliance with service protocols and data collection requirements



The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.

Staff wellbeing is a top priority - We have a very active, award winning, in- service wellbeing team and take a pride in our supportive, collaborative, and productive culture. The Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies service follows a hybrid working pattern, currently aiming for staff on average to work for 3 days in a Trust office or clinic and 2 days from home.



Our two main bases are centrally located within Aylesbury and High Wycombe, and we use additional clinic space around the county. Ability and willingness to travel for work purposes is essential.



Qualified PWPs are expected to comply with the national requirement effective from 10th June 2022, for PWP registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). Registration must be maintained annually, at the practitioner's expense. Please ensure you complete the section within this application form asking for your PIN. If you are awaiting confirmation of registration, please provide evidence of your submission for registration. Successful candidates who have not completed the approval process will be required to practice at a training grade (Band 4), and will be paid accordingly, until such time as the registration is confirmed.
