About the Role
To deliver public health business intelligence for Leicestershire County Council and for Rutland County. Working towards the objectives of improving the health of the population and reducing health inequalities, as set out in the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Public Health Strategy. To take the lead in delivering elements of the public health team business intelligence work plan and in leading delivery of JSNA Theme Data Topics, particularly for Rutland County. To produce and develop a range of statistical information, reports and dashboards to support the Business Intelligence Service in promoting evidence based decision making. To provide senior analyst level intelligence and support for the Health and Wellbeing Boards within Leicestershire County Council and Rutland County Council.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent, with significant statistical content plus appropriate public health or related intelligence experience;
  • Proven experience in public health intelligence/analysis including principles of epidemiology and medical statistics;
  • Experience of delivering health JSNAs, needs assessments, PNAs and applied public health techniques;
  • Knowledge of statistical, analytical and epidemiological techniques and health data sources including Fingertips and Aristotle;
  • Ability to translate complex information and datasets into analysed dashboard content and reports and interpret these for various audiences. Good skills in the use of Tableau data visualisation software;
  • Managing intelligence projects and contributions to those to meet deadlines;
  • Able to communicate statistical and public health data using good oral and written communication skills.
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
