As an experienced Public Health Engineer, you will be responsible for designing above ground foul and rainwater drainage, domestic hot and cold water and fire fighting systems, i.e. outline sprinkler designs, wet and dry riser and hydrant systems in order to ensure safe water, above ground drainage and fire fighting installations for multiple projects.
The job role of the Public Health Engineer involves the following main duties:
Planning above ground foul and surface water drainage systems, domestic water services and relevant fire fighting stems using computer modelling software
Undertaking technical Public Health Services designs including calculations, layout and schematic drawings, technical schedules and specification documentation, etc.
Attending project meetings
Visiting sites to gain an understanding of the project
Liaising with other teams and departments within WBS
Liaising with other external design team members on various projects
Working with clients to ensure that their requirements are fulfilled, and expectations met
Using computer modelling tools, i.e. REVIT, in the design of Public Health Services systems
Assessing the environmental impact of proposed works
Keeping up to date with changing legislation and codes of practice to ensure compliance
Answering technical queries, both internally within WBS and externally with other parties, etc.
Visiting the site during construction (where required) to make sure the works are completed to specification
Undertaking Public Health services strategy reports in order to satisfy planning condition requirements on projects
Liaising and agreeing with Thames Water on pre-development enquires for new water supplies on various projects
Able to work on multiple projects in order to satisfy the internal WBS programme requirements
Experience of designing single building and multi-building site Public Health Services systems
