Job Requirements:
The purpose of the Senior Quality Technician - Battery is to work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all IATF 16949 and customer requirements. The role is focussed but not limited to battery products and customers. The role will participate in multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative original solutions where results are key to successful new product and process implementation.
Responsibilities:Proactively engage with driving safety culture by: + Generating preventative hazard spots, and ensuring all opportunities raised are driven to conclusion
+ Develop and implement a 5S process within place of work to drive improvement and safe working practice
+ Participate in site safety processes and leading indicators such as pre-task risk assessments, Gemba Walks, Task Observations
Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards Document Control - Accountable to ensure maintenance and effective control of relevant documentation e.g. Procedures, Forms, Work Instructions, Control Plans, PFMEAs, Part Control Plans. Accountable in ensuring all Automotive Core Tools are documented, effectively evaluated and maintained with the appropriate assessments and action improvement planning Monitor KPI's and drive continuous improvements, inclusive of but not limited to Customer Complaints / External CoPQ / Yield Loss Coordinate process to review and implement Battery Customer Specific Requirements with multi-functional teams and thereafter maintain annual reviews Support the control nonconforming material e.g. ensure disposition of product at various stages within production, reaction and decision making of suspect material, concessions, deviations and RMAs Complete impartial internal process audits in accordance with IATF standard and CSRs within annual internal schedule Coordinate PFMEA creation for new battery projects with multi-functional teams and thereafter maintain annual reviews. Implement AIAG VDA PFMEA standard where required. Facilitate and coach completion of any open CAPA's for external non-conformities for robust corrective and preventative action Support internal NPI reviews and ensure any resulting actions are fulfilled in a timely manner Participate in site visits from external auditors and battery customers Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers

Qualifications / ExperienceIATF 16949 Auditor qualified inclusive of IATF Core Tools (desired) Degree, HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (desired) Minimum 3 years' experience coordinating a certified quality management system e.g. IATF 16949, ISO 9001. (required) Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment. (required) 5-10 years' experience in the automotive industry (desired) Supplier & Customer Quality assurance experience. (required) Previous audit experience i.e. ISO9001 & 14001 (required) PC literate e.g. Microsoft Office, Minitab, Lotus Notes, SAP (required) Ability to interpret; technical standards, technical drawings and specifications with a good understanding of lab testing and other measurement considerations (required)
