Role Profile
The FTSE Russell Engineered Products and Indices team requires a Senior Quantitative Index Developer to help deliver new business opportunities in the field of quantitative investment strategies and indices. This role is open to a talented Python developer with solid understanding in quantitative investment strategies across asset classes and risk premia.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement Python applications using object-oriented programming principles for efficient and scalable solutions Analyse and optimize existing codebase for performance and maintainability Participate in the marketing effort with sales Write corresponding index methodologies Drive innovation in index construction and integration of derivatives-based data and strategies Collaborate with IT in building an adapted front-to-back architecture, including back-testing, validation, calculation, and publication. Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with clients to ensure that strategies are designed to optimize performance while preserving the integrity and representativeness of the strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCEAdvanced degree in finance, mathematics, computer science, or a related field. Strong proficiency in Python programming in an analytical environment with a focus on object oriented design and development Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative software development practices Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-functional team translating technical concepts Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced innovative environment Ability to work in a team with fast turnarounds, manage workloads optimally and readily assume additional responsibilities Deep understanding of financial markets, systematic investment strategies, derivatives pricing, and advanced risk management techniques. Familiarity with quantitative research methodologies or keen curiosity about financial markets.
