The Role
As a
Senior Quantity Surveyor
, you will lead the commercial function of our new South West office, overseeing groundworks projects and driving the success of our regional expansion. This pivotal role requires a self-motivated leader with a strong groundworks background to manage costs, contracts, and teams while inspiring excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the commercial strategy for groundworks projects, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, valuations, and final accounts.
Oversee procurement processes, including subcontractor agreements and material sourcing.
Conduct risk assessments, cost analysis, and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.
Administer contracts, managing variations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Build and lead a high-performing team, mentoring and motivating staff to achieve excellence.
Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Represent the company in the South West, fostering strong client relationships and driving business growth.
What We're Looking For:
Experience
: Minimum of 10 years as a Quantity Surveyor, with extensive expertise in groundworks (e.g., foundations, drainage, earthworks, and infrastructure).
Qualifications
: Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills
:
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of motivating staff.
Exceptional commercial awareness and expertise in cost management and contract negotiation.
Proficiency with industry software (e.g., Causeway, Excel, or similar).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Attributes
: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to lead with confidence in a fast-paced environment.
Location
: Based in our new South West office, with flexibility for site visits across the region.
