Senior Quantity Surveyor

to join our team on the Isle of Skye, supporting the delivery of high-profile building and civil engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure while mentoring junior staff and driving commercial excellence.

Role Purpose





As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will manage all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts. You will aim to maximise value for money while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will also play a key role in mentoring less experienced commercial staff and supporting their professional development.

What you'll be doing



Prepare activity and resource schedules; analyse tender documents. Review and negotiate with third parties. Monitor subcontractor activities and manage commercial documentation (CEN, EWN, GC under NEC contracts). Analyse commercial progress and report to senior project staff. Prepare procurement strategies and internal financial reports. Support recruitment and development of junior team members. Maintain commercial registers and ensure compliance with reporting standards.


Who we're looking for



BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience. Chartered or working towards membership of RICS, ICES, or CIOB. Strong commercial acumen and NEC contract administration experience. Proven ability to manage and mentor a team.

Excellent communication and leadership skills. Strong customer and business awareness. Ability to identify risks, opportunities, and deliver results. Experience in constructability analysis and programme management.
