You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.Qualification: BSc/MSc In Quantity surveying and registration with Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB)The Capital Programmes Division is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced quantity surveying practitioner to join its Commercial Team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.The Capital Programme Division reports to the Director of Growth & Development and is responsible for developing and delivering Major and Minor Capital Programmes across the City. The current value of the programme is xc2xa3200m pa. The portfolio of work is varied and some of our current and previous projects include the construction of new schools, large scale solar PV installations, building demolition, repair, maintenance & refurbishment of heritage buildings, galleries, leisure centres, and park buildings.The Senior Quantity Surveyor role is based in the Minor Works Team which is responsible for delivering construction, repair and refurbishment projects and programmes such as the Manchester City Council Corporate Estates Asset Management Programme , which range in value from xc2xa32k to xc2xa32m. The team assists clients to review project requirements and develop programmes of work which achieve economies of scale from a cost, quality, and programme delivery perspective.About the CandidateReporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will have a relevant accredited degree at BSc/MSc level in quantity surveying and be registered with a professional construction surveying body such as the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors as chartered member (MRICS) or currently working towards this professional qualification/level of chartered membership.Experience of working within a commercial team setting as a quantity surveyor on a range of construction projects is essential. Demonstrable experience of managing and resolving commercial and contractual issues and risks at project level is also required. This will be underpinned by experience of pre-contract, post contract and cost planning within a construction environment, along with experience and knowledge of working with various contracts such as PSPC, JCT and NEC3/4 (ECC and TSC).
