Newport Norse, working in partnership with Newport City Council, is a highly successful company based in the city of Newport (South Wales), offering a full range of property and facilities management services to the public and private sectors.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the delivery of a complete range of Quantity Surveying professional services to a wide variety of clients.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for resource planning and management to provide all required services.
Provide quantity surveying services as a project leader or part of a team from feasibility stages through to final account.
Ensure that client requirements are identified and agreed with the clients.
Provide and maintain high standards of design, construction and contract management, and support the senior colleagues in maintain standards and ensuring compliance.
Ensure projects are completed to programme and within budget and fee provision.
Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
Demonstrate personal commitment to the Norse Way CSR strategy.
Candidate Requirement:
Professional Chartered professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
Extensive experience in a similar or related role
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills
Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
