Be a pro-active member of the Commercial Team; lead and assist in contract administrative duties, as necessary. Reporting to the Commercial Manager leading the Commercial team to ensure accurate records are constantly updated; key commercial and contract tasks are conducted in a timely fashion. Part of a small team responsible for identifying, recording, and managing contractual risk and opportunity across the businesses portfolio to assist in the cash backed profitable growth of the business in sustainable revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, mentor, and oversee the commercial function
Provide mentorship and advice to operational colleagues
Prepare and analyse project margin forecasts, revenue forecasting, cost to complete ramification
Manage risk, value management and cost control during project life cycle
Identify, analyse, and manage responses to commercial risks
Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use and highlight and track key dates, clauses and promote best practice throughout the business
Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Recording and maintaining records as required on risk, opportunity, contract document control - Contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Change Management ...
Manage and own the application for payment process including resolution of any client queries
Liaising with finance team to ensure invoices are raised accordingly and payments are received timely
Lead and strive for operational excellence and continual performance improvement through proactive management to minimise risk and maximise opportunity
Subcontractor management - ownership of subcontract creation, applications and payments, change management, risk analysis, hold regular meetings throughout the project cycle, final accounting
Assistant with commercial policy and procedures and establish parameters for measuring project performance
Monitor and report accordingly on the Programme of works for the projects, issuing notices as required under the project.
Assist with instilling best commercial practice throughout the organisation
Build robust relationships with our clients and ensure site commercial meetings are made regular throughout the project life cycle.
Skills & Experience Required:
Contract administration and formation, knowledge and experience of JCT and NEC contracts, value and cost control, understand programmes/impact analysis/delays/acceleration etc.,
Good communication and negotiation skills, good teamwork, cost analysis, time management skills, successful in meeting deadlines
Experience and ability to use Microsoft packages particularly excel and word, ability to read a programme such as Asta.
Experience of managing subordinates preferable but not essential,
Knowledge of the Construction Act, awareness of changes in construction law
Desirable Qualifications:
Quantity Surveying related degree or HNC/HND Level
Data Centres admirable, M&E experience preferable
Full Driving Licence
