We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Senior Quantity Surveyor
to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded professional to take ownership of projects, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in the continued growth of our company.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility for the financial and contractual management of projects from inception to completion.
Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and project financial plans.
Lead the preparation and review of tender documents, contracts, and procurement strategies.
Assess and review project documents, including Scope of Works, Drawings, Specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
Proactively raise Early Warnings / Event Notifications and manage associated risks.
Price Variations / Compensation Events and negotiate with clients and subcontractors.
Measure and value works on-site and ensure accurate cost reporting.
Prepare, review, and submit applications for payment and final accounts.
Attend and lead progress meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Supervise, mentor, and support an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, helping to develop their skills and ensure work is delivered to a high standard
.
Track and report on project costs, identify potential risks/issues, and recommend solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Degree in Quantity Surveying.
Proven experience
as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally at senior or project level.
Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts (NEC/JCT), and project lifecycles.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to work independently while managing and supporting junior staff.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders.
Full UK driving licence required.
