Mott MacDonald Bentley are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA).


The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8.

What will you be doing as our new Senior Quantity Surveyor?

As our new Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll act as the commercial conscious to the integrated delivery team, providing commercial support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams. Ensuring that that operations are carried out to control costs, maximise value, minimise future liabilities and maintain the required standard of quality and safety, you'll also oversee the full compliance with the Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures on a consistent basis.

Key responsibilities:

Ensure the SPA alliance is provided with both accurate cost and value reporting and forecasting to mitigate adverse financial impacts Ensure effective capture of costs and ensuring all costs are allocated appropriately Ensure effective, efficient and robust processes and systems are employed to identify, report and escalate commercial risk, such as early warning notices, to ensure appropriate mitigation is implemented Assist the Commercial Manager in determining the operational commercial reporting requirements of the alliance and work with the Performance Reporting & Systems team and Finance to ensure they are accurate, meaningful and timely Lead the identification of cost reduction opportunities and provide support to help stakeholders realise them Create and own appropriate commercial forums with stakeholders to ensure prudent commercial management and compliance with the governance of the alliance

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours....

Quantity Surveying Degree or equivalent. Experienced in delivering large scale projects including civil, mechanical, infrastructure and non-infrastructure type work Have an awareness of NEC3 forms of contract. Previous experience working in a complex matrix team environment. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills. Proven experience of Quantity Surveying with relevant professional qualification e.g. RICS, CIOB, ICE Experience using SAP e.g. Finance, Procurement, ALM. Previous experience drafting construction contracts A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
