We are looking for a Senior Recovery Theatre Practitioner to join our Operating Theatres Department at Private Care at Guys, currently rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC. Private Care at Guy's is part of London Bridge Hospital, with Four Operating Theatres offering a wide range of surgeries including Robotics, Urology and Gynaecology. Equipped with three state-of-the-art DaVinci Surgical Systems, our theatres boast one of the largest multi-specialty private robotic programmes in the UK. With 49 patient bedrooms and four Level 3 ICU beds we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care, delivering a level of care rarely found in the private sector.
Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of colleagues, experienced professionals. London Bridge has a successful track record of career progression, offering support and development to those seeking to aspire higher or widen their knowledge.
As a senior theatre practitioner, you will be responsible for the delivery care that helps improve the health of the individual, demonstrating compassion through effective relationships based on empathy, respect and dignity.
What you will do:
Assemble, prepare and check the appropriate recovery equipment, consumables and drugs to ensure appropriate and safe care of the patient during immediate post-operative phase of care
Assist the anaesthetist during the immediate post-operative phase of care as and when required
Monitor the patient's condition throughout the phase of care, taking appropriate action to manage any arising complications through contingency planning
Proactively monitor the patient's level of discomfort/pain and take appropriate action to ensure the patient is comfortable.
Take appropriate actions to manage any arising complications of surgery through contingency planning.
Mentor and Support Junior Members of staff
Take charge of the clinical area in the absence of an advanced practitioner ensuring patient, visitors and staff safety.

What you will bring:
Nursing degree/ODP apprenticeship or equivalent
Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
HCPC Registration or NMC Registration / NMC Pin
Experience working as a Recovery Theatre Practitioner in Operating Theatre.
Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and confident to support the theatre team.
Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding in Theatres
