About the Role:
The Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of Syndicate regulatory returns and financial statements for submission to Lloyd's. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are vital to address challenges, develop effective solutions, and keep pace with changing regulatory requirements.
The role involves working closely with various teams across the business, relying on excellent communication skills to coordinate efforts to ensure all submissions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Beyond Lloyd's reporting, the Senior Regulatory Reporting Accountant will also play an active role in the FTOM project, which focuses on enhancing the regulatory and statutory reporting processes.
A significant part of the role is dedicated to continuously developing and improving reporting processes and controls, driving efficiency and accuracy in all reporting activities.
Role of the Department:
Finance in Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) consists of circa 100 FTE and has a number of key roles:To partner the business to enhance decision making with a focus on strategy, planning, analysis, and reporting.
To utilise our legal entity platform in the most cost and capital efficient manner complimenting and supporting the LSM strategy.
To ensure that all external financial reporting requirements (statutory, regulatory, tax, capital etc.) are fulfilled. LSM consists of a Lloyd's Syndicate, a Luxembourg insurance company with UK and European branches, as well as several service companies and cover holder companies.
To report to our US Parent on standard monthly requirements and ad-hoc requests on both a pillar and a legal basis.
To ensure superior management of our investments, cash and all financial risks.
To give finance operations support to the business and finance.

Regulatory Reporting:
LSM operates through two primary legal entities which act as (re)/insurers: Syndicate 4472 and Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe Limited SE (LMIE), which are regulated by Lloyd's, the UK PRA, the Luxembourg CAA, and certain overseas supervisors and regulators in respect of their branch operations. LSM also operates certain other regulated entities, both in the UK and overseas, with more limited scope of activity. The global growth of LSM presents continual change within the jurisdictional landscape.
The Regulatory Reporting function is a part of the External Reporting team and is responsible for completing a broad range of reporting requirements for Solvency II, Lloyd's reporting, and other local regulatory regimes. All the output from this function must be delivered to strict deadlines, requiring a high level of commitment from the staff involved, particularly at quarter ends.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing and reviewing the Syndicate's quarterly and annual regulatory and financial reporting deliverables, including but not limited to:
+ Syndicate UKGAAP trial balance
+ Lloyd's Flash Report and QMA Delta Return
+ Interim and annual Syndicate financial statements
+ Quarterly and Annual Solvency II Quantitative and Narrative Reports (QSRs and ASRs) Prepare Governance Packs related to reporting activities.
Support enhancements to Syndicate Solvency II reporting and the implementation of Solvency UK requirements.
Participate actively in the FTOM project, aimed at overhauling reporting infrastructure and improving regulatory and statutory reporting processes.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and proactively identify changes required to meet business and Finance needs.
Build and nurture effective relationships across functional departments, including Actuarial, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Reinsurance, and Accounting Operations.
Coordinate cross-departmental tasks to ensure seamless delivery of reporting obligations.
Support the Senior Manager and wider Regulatory and External Reporting teams on additional projects as needed.

Skills and Experience:Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Strong IT literacy with an emphasis on spreadsheet proficiency and data handling.
Extensive experience within the insurance industry and Lloyd's market.
Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience of regulatory reporting, including Solvency II under Lloyd's or company platforms.
Exposure to US GAAP and UK GAAP reporting frameworks is highly advantageous.
Working knowledge of general ledger systems.
Proven ability to meet demanding deadlines, especially during reporting periods.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly.
Effective communicator capable of engaging with various organisational levels, fostering teamwork within Finance and providing clear reporting to senior executives and committees.
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to understand the core business drivers of a London Market operation and its key stakeholders.
Commitment to continuous professional development and timely completion of mandated training.
Ability to build excellent relationships internally and with external parties such as auditors and overseas teams.
