Job Title: Senior Reinsurance Technician

Job Purpose:
Act as a key business partner on the Underwriting Line of Business assigned and be accountable for leading all outwards post placement activity ensuring contracts are captured accurately in outwards system and collections are notified to brokers in a timely manner
Key Responsibilities:Play a Lead role in assisting and developing the RI Technicians in the team Build relationships with and drive performance of all applicable RI brokers Manage and enhance the relationships with internal stakeholders including Underwriters & Finance Understand and create reinsurance contracts in outwards systems Initiate settlement of reinsurance premium to broker and carrier with credit control team Identification and calculation of reinsurance recoveries within reinsurance systems including reconciliations to Finance outputs Submit accurate and timely statements, advices and collection notes to brokers and reinsurers Identify potential improvements to processes and services

Performance Objectives:
Ownership and accountability for Line of business:Timely and accurate booking and payment of reinsurance premium in accordance with contractual terms including contract adjustments and maintenance Ensure RI brokers are settling all transactions to reinsurers in a timely fashion Build relations with all internal stakeholders Issuance and monitoring of reinsurance claim collection notes as per contract terms and conditions including query resolution Ensure accurate recording of transactions in ORI administration system and onwards reporting Drive continuous process improvements through standardisation, automation and elimination

Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
The successful candidate will require knowledge and experience gained through working for an Insurance/Reinsurance Syndicate, Company or Broker.Experience, knowledge and In-depth understanding of the Insurance/Reinsurance Market from a Lloyd's, Company or broker market perspective Confidant, articulate and experienced in dealing with internal & external stakeholders Methodical approach to problem solving and decision making Customer focus and service mentality Focus on execution and timely delivery of quality outputs Self-motivated, can-do attitude and pro-active mindset Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability and confidence to challenge existing procedures & use of system Strong computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and MS PowerPoint

Desirable:Strong leadership skills Industry recognised qualifications Continuous improvement experience Language skills Experience with Marine Reinsurance
