The Senior Research Analyst role will provide programme performance and marketplace insights for the Content Sales teams by analysing & interpreting ratings & market intelligence data, supporting the Content Sales senior research team, and representing the voice & habits of The Walt Disney Company's content consumers.
This is an office-based role with 4 days working in the
Hammersmith, London office,
with 1 day working from home.
The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
Analysis and insight supporting local content sales teams by:
Tracking performance of linear series and films, as well as VOD performance depending on data availability
Identifying sales opportunities through potential/current client and market deep dives
Identify performance metrics for both Disney and competitors on client channels/platforms to inform deal negotiations
Highlight competitive strategies, including windowing, number of transmissions granted, and utilities to inform ongoing client conversations
Responsibility for data dashboards including improving outputs, responsibility for data quality, ensuring timelines are met
Demonstrate expertise in linear and non-linear content distribution landscape across EMEA
Responsible for reporting performance of key regional content sales initiatives. Insights delivered to local content sales leads, regional heads and broader teams including business development and local commissioners
End-to-end responsibility for primary research study - the Talent Tracker - across FIGSUK to measure awareness, likeability and driver to view appeal for the commissioning teams in each market
Support research manager on select primary research projects for local Disney+ commissioners
Support wider business functions such as business development to inform long-range planning as well as supporting Disney+ acquisitions to identify local series performance, trends, and audience profiles, to identify opportunities for Disney+ acquisitions of local content
Working with our cross-platform team to develop an automated system that enables smoother, more consistent, and quicker turnaround of performance data. This role will be responsible for planning, managing, and driving forward this ongoing work.
The Experience We Require From You:
Must have experience using ratings data tools such as Techedge, ITVR or similar
Good understanding of the commercial TV and VOD landscape
Must have a genuine interest in and understanding of media distribution and developments in content distribution
The role requires a curious and innovative thinker who is able to approach tasks from different perspectives
Experienced and comfortable presenting research findings to senior level stakeholders in an engaging and storytelling led way
Experience in dealing with a large amount of data across multiple sources
Knowledge of market intelligence tools eg (e.g. Omdia, 3Vision, Enders) etc a benefit
Graduate with good degree in the area of business / marketing / media / statistics / maths
Outstanding attention to detail, proofreading and checking large data sets
Experience across EMEA markets a benefit but not essential
Experience of collating large datasets through automation a benefit though not essential
This is a cross-territory role, so an appreciation for different cultures and customs will be expected
Excellent analytical & numerical kills, including data manipulation
The ability to build clear insight from analysis & presentation of research data from a variety of sources including in-house data, industry sources, & current web research data
Understanding of audience measurement, preferably TV ratings
Excellent project management skills
Knowledge of current media/TV/on-line performance data software
Good organisational, written and presentation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
SQL Skillset is beneficial, though not essential
