This post is an excellent opportunity for a talented medical statistician to work on an UKRI funded project developing and extending methods for growth curve analysis. The project aims to develop joint modelling methods for analysis of determinants and outcomes of growth during adolescence and emerging adulthood, using the SuperImposition by Translation and Rotation (SITAR) nonlinear mixed effects model.
What will you be doing?
---------------------------
The post holder will take the lead in developing and testing Bayesian joint models for relating height and body composition growth features to early life exposures and later outcomes. They will use simulation studies and data from prospective cohorts to develop and test the new methods. Additionally, they will develop and extend R packages to implement the methods and contribute to the dissemination of findings by preparing statistical analyses and results for publications, presentations, and other research outputs. While working independently, the post holder will also collaborate closely with the project collaborators, expert advisory board and user advisory groups.
You should apply if
-----------------------
You should apply if you have excellent programming skills in R and a strong foundation in growth curve analysis. This role is particularly well-suited to candidates with experience of extending or adapting standard statistical methods and/or software, joint modelling of longitudinal data, and designing and conducting simulation studies.
