We are looking for an experienced researcher with quantitative skills to join the Musculoskeletal Research Unit at Bristol Medical School. This project aims to support orthopaedic surgeons to reduce negative outlier performance. The applicant will provide quantitative support to the overall research project and analyse the change in surgeon performance over time using big national registry datasets.

We are seeking an experienced researcher in quantitative epidemiology and/or statistics with strong experience of applying their methodological skills in clinical, public health, epidemiological, health or social science fields.. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a committed multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality impactful outputs, and for the post-holder to develop their own research skills. The role will involve active contribution to research dissemination, including timely reports and publications. Career development is supported through the University's extensive training programmes.

Applicant should hold a PhD or a MSc with strong experience on applied quantitative modelling relevant for clinical/public health/health or social sciences research and have a relevant track record of peer-reviewed publications.
The post-holder will be based at the Learning and Research Building on the Southmead Hospital site, with a requirement to work on campus at least two days per week. Line management will be provided by Dr EL.
