The Milner Therapeutics Institute is seeking to recruit a Senior Research Laboratory Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support the maintenance of the Institute, to ensure research is delivered effectively. The role holder will become part of a pioneering, forward-thinking and strategic workforce, which is continuously evolving and growing.
The MTI is a purpose-built research Institute located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. It is a unique working environment, with start-up businesses and academics working side by side across shared office and laboratory space. The overarching vision of the MTI is to convert pioneering science into therapies by connecting industry and academia, driving collaborative research and accelerating therapeutic companies.
The Senior Research Laboratory Technician will report to the Facilities Manager within the Scientific Facilities Team at the MTI. The role will provide key facilities support to a diverse mix of industry and academic research groups that work towards the MTIa??s goal of converting science into therapies.
The support provided by the Senior Research Laboratory Technician will include maintaining consistent and safe availability of key equipment, consumables and spaces required by the researchers a?? these requirements are subject to regular change as MTI occupancy refreshes.
There are systems and processes established to enable this support objective, and the Senior Research Laboratory Technician will work with the facilities team to develop those processes for continuous improvement at this dynamic research institute.
The Senior Research Laboratory Technician must be aware of, follow and encourage compliance with various frameworks for good practice.
The role is full-time hours 36.5 hours per week working onsite.
