We are recruiting for a Senior Research Programme Manager: Building Systems with research and/or innovative skills to join our London office to deliver The Line: an exciting and visionary cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of north-western Saudi Arabia. The City will serve Neom Region: an area near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt, Israel, and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

The Role

As a Senior Research Programme Manager: Building Systems within the Research & Innovation (R&I) team on The Line, the successful candidate will play a key role in understanding and developing opportunities for Research and Innovation in building systems and environmental control for the LINE. This role will provide vital direction and insights on the latest research and innovation in building systems for the LINE. The successful candidate will provide vital direction and insights on the latest research and innovate products in advanced materials across multiple areas.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop & deliver R&I strategy for building systems and environmental control innovation in the LINE, including forecasting, external research commissions, open innovation calls and piloting/testing of new technology and processes.
  • Work with Director of R&I and wider Delivery Partner functions to translate strategy into research and innovation programmes, investment business cases, and roadmaps.
  • Identify key opportunities (research, technology or product based) for R&I in the LINE in relation to building systems.
  • Identify & develop strategic partnerships with research organisations and innovative companies.
  • Support piloting, testing and scaling of new technologies and products, where appropriate and application to subject area.
Core Requirements

Qualifications
  • Degree qualified or higher (or equivalent) in relevant engineering field.
Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable hands on industrial or post-graduate research experience in applied field.
  • Experience in business environments that span a range of functions including R&D, innovation and business development and growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in piloting, testing, or scaling innovative building systems in the built environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and first-hand experience working with innovation processes and research.
