Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week. Are you an experienced, solution oriented, systemic working, child focused practitioner, keen to work alongside partners and particularly our children and young people to deliver short breaks in Rotherham? This post could be for you! ... Liberty House provides planned overnight short break care seven days per week for up to seven children and young people aged between 5-18 years who have physical or sensory disabilities, complex health needs and challenging behaviour because of their disability.

Rotherham Council has made a strategic decision to make a significant investment in children's residential services. This will ensure more of our looked after children are placed in Rotherham, close to their local communities, family and schools.

We are seeking a Senior Practitioner who has previous experience of working in SEND provisions, mental health residential settings, crisis accommodation and with children and young people with sensory, ASD and physical disabilities. You will be joining a well-established team to contribute to the continued development and growth of RMBC's residential short breaks service.

The senior practitioner role will involve leading a team of Residential Care Practitioners to provide overnight short breaks for up to 6 children and young people (including an emergency provision), you will provide first line direct management for the support workers and assist the management team in the day to day running of the service.

For an informal discussion, please contact Donna Dawson or Beth Roper at Donna.Dawson@rotherham.go.uk or Bethany.Roper@rotherham.gov.uk. This post involves working with children and therefore if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at an enhanced level.
