Are you who we are looking for?
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced children's home residential worker to take on a Senior role for our warm, friendly and welcoming children's care home where our dedicated and stable staff team always strive to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which our young people can thrive.
As one of our Seniors it will be your responsibility to operate and model the highest standards of practice within our children's home, leading shifts and providing excellent guidance to our staff team. Your practice will be trauma informed and therapeutic and you will be experienced at building excellent relationships with young people that help them to grow and develop and achieve good outcomes in their lives. You will be someone who can bring energy, passion and a commitment to delivering care that is of a high standard in line with our "Good" Ofsted judgement.
You will have a good understanding of the Children's Home Regulations and Quality Standards and be able to put these into practice and support the development of the practice of others in line with those requirements.

Key responsibilities include:-
1. To undertake a lead role in ensuring the care and welfare of each child in placement.
2. To provide strong and effective guidance and support to all Residential Support Workers.
3. To be responsible for the supervision of designated staff members, and to record this within staff supervision files.
4. To raise any concerns with the Registered Manager and take an active role as part of the management and leadership of the home in developing all areas of practice.
Working hours:
A flexible approach to meet the needs of the service is required, we operate a shift system to cover Monday to Sunday, plus being part of an on-call rota for which an allowance will be paid
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years' experience in a children's home setting within the last five years, preferably within a leadership role.
NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Services;
A commitment to continuing professional development
Recent safeguarding training
Excellent leadership skills.
Experience of carrying out administrative duties such as filing, recording, rota preparation and report writing for Children's Homes
Experience of working with young people aged between 8 - 18 with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties
Experience of making decisions under pressure
Experience of working with children and young people and developing effective relationships with them.
Ability to support children and young people in the face of adversity and challenge.
Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
Good IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft packages and electronic management systems
Good verbal and written communication skills
