Overview:

The Senior Retail Technical Designer plays a pivotal role in turning creative concepts into fully developed, scalable and production-ready solutions. Leading the 3D and technical design process, this role ensures that creative intent is translated into detailed CAD models and buildable fixturing systems suited for both bespoke and mass manufacture. Working across global markets the position collaborates closely with procurement, production and creative teams to manage suppliers, oversee prototyping, and deliver high-quality outcomes. With strong project management responsibilities, the role guides projects from initial brief through to installation, balancing commercial objectives with design integrity. This position requires extensive technical expertise, international manufacturing experience and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships while upholding consistent global brand standards.

Duties

:

Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the technical department, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives. Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of complex technical projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scopes, timelines, and resource requirements. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices in technology development and deployment. Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and clients to ensure seamless communication and project delivery. Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the organisation at the forefront of innovation. Lead recruitment efforts for technical staff, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities. Prepare detailed reports for senior management regarding project progress, risks, and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

Proven experience in a senior technical leadership role within a relevant industry. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Demonstrable expertise in strategic planning, project management, and team leadership. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear language suitable for diverse audiences. A recognised degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. A proactive mindset with problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to changing priorities.
