A leading global specialty reinsurer is seeking a motivated

(Senior) Risk Analyst

to join its London Risk function. Reporting to the UK CRO, you will play a key role in strengthening and embedding the Group's risk, capital, and solvency management framework.

The Role




In this role, you will:


Lead the Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process using our enterprise risk platform. Support regulatory, Board and Risk Committee reporting. Contribute to stress and scenario testing, business planning and risk monitoring. Collaborate with CROs, functional leaders, regulators and rating agencies.
We're looking for a self-starter with strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a sound understanding of risk management within insurance or financial services.

Key Accountabilities




Risk Framework



To support the Group and Subsidiary CROs in respect of the continuing development and embedding of the Group's Risk, Capital & Solvency Management Framework and supporting processes. To support the development and embed techniques to identify, measure, respond to, monitor, mitigate (as appropriate) and report on all key risks. Assist with the development and delivery of appropriate training materials, education and consultancy to ensure ERM remains effectively embedded across the Group.

Risk Monitoring




Lead the process for identifying, monitoring and managing Operational Risk including the facilitation of reviews with Risk and Control Owners thought the Risk and Control Self Assessment using the Decision Focus Risk Platform.

Risk Reporting




Assist with coordinating inputs from across the business to enable the timely and effective production of both scheduled and ad-hoc reports to all Boards and Management committees. Support ad-hoc requests for risk reporting from internal and external stakeholders including regulators and rating agencies as required.

Planning and Stress & Scenario Testing




Support elements of the Strategic and Business Planning processes. Support the development, parameterisation, operation and analysis of stress and scenario tests

Skills & Experience




Good awareness and understanding of the principles of effective risk management spanning both traditional Operational Risk and those key areas of Intrinsic / Financial Risk faced by insurers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to communicate with senior management and external stakeholders. The ability to engage confidently with other functions, locally and remotely, and build effective and enduring working relationships. Excellent organisation skills, initiative and ability to work to fixed deadlines. Self-starter, comfortable working with limited supervision. Lateral thinker, able and willing to provide appropriate challenge. Possess strong technical / computer skills including working with RCSA software / platforms.
