We are seeking a Senior Risk Based Inspection (RBI) Engineer to lead the development and implementation of inspection strategies for complex assets. This role will optimize inspection planning, enhance asset reliability, and support compliance with industry codes and regulations. The position offers remote-first flexibility with regular international client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct risk assessments using RBI methodologies (API RP 580/581, ASME PCC-3, or equivalent)
Identify degradation mechanisms, failure modes, and risk consequences
Develop risk-based inspection plans for critical equipment and process units
Define inspection intervals, techniques, and frequencies based on risk profiles
Maintain and validate RBI models, databases, and inspection records
Prepare technical reports, inspection workpacks, and recommendations for clients
Ensure inspection strategies comply with API, ASME, ISO, and local regulatory requirements
Support continuous improvement of RBI processes and methodologies
Communicate inspection findings to stakeholders, from engineering teams to senior management
Mentor and support junior engineers on RBI and integrity management practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, or related Engineering discipline
Minimum 8 years' experience in RBI, asset integrity management, or reliability engineering
Strong knowledge of API RP 580/581 and relevant codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO)
Experience with RBI software tools (e.g., PCMS, Synergi RBI, Capstone RBMI, Meridium APM)
Understanding of NDT methods (UT, RT, MFL, etc.) and Fitness-for-Service assessments (API 579)
Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
Fluency in English; other languages are an advantage
