Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our childcare facility. This role is vital in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and organised environment for children and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a background in early childhood education or nursery experience. Duties

Supervise and support childcare staff during assigned shifts, ensuring high standards of care and safety are maintained Organise daily activities and routines in accordance with organisational policies and early childhood education principles Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster a positive environment Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times Manage behavioural issues promptly and professionally Assist with planning educational programmes that promote children's development Oversee the utilisation of resources and maintain cleanliness of the nursery area Drive organisational initiatives to improve service quality and staff performance Must have experience working with SEND children We are daily set up and pack away setting

Qualifications

Proven management or leadership experience within childcare settings or early childhood education environments Experience working with children, ideally within a nursery or preschool context Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written Knowledge of childcare regulations and health & safety standards Ability to lead a team effectively, demonstrating organisational skills and professionalism Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation duties or organisational errands Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are preferred but not essential for all roles
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
