Senior Safety Partner & Specialist Job Overview:



We are seeking a senior, multi-skilled safety professional to join our team in a flagship hybrid role that blends

H&S advisory leadership, specialist training delivery, technical rescue capability, and client engagement

.

Based from our Doncaster HQ with national and global travel, this role is not a traditional health and safety position. It is designed for someone equally comfortable advising senior client stakeholders, delivering accredited training, and supporting or leading rescue operations on high-risk projects.

The SSPS will act as a trusted partner to key clients, while also strengthening Shoal's operational capability and reducing reliance on external resources on critical or high-value projects.

Responsibilities of the Senior Safety Partner & Specialist:



Health & Safety Advisory



Act as a senior H&S advisor across industrial, energy, and construction projects. Conduct site audits, risk assessments, compliance reviews, and incident investigations. Support clients with safe systems of work, CDM obligations, behavioural safety, and best practice implementation. Develop and support project-specific safety strategies and continuous improvement plans.

Specialist Training Delivery



Deliver Shoal's accredited health and safety training programmes. Facilitate engaging, practical, and high-quality training sessions. Maintain exceptional standards of course delivery, assessment, and learner experience. Contribute to the development and refinement of training content and practical assessments.

Technical Rescue & Emergency Response



Operate as a competent Rescue Technician in confined space, work at height, and emergency response environments. Support or lead rescue standby operations on high-risk sites. Carry out equipment checks, rescue planning, safety briefings, and emergency preparedness activities. Represent Shoal's rescue capability with professionalism, technical excellence, and calm leadership.

Client Engagement & Business Development



Build strong, trusted relationships with clients at all levels. Act as a senior point of contact during advisory, training, and operational delivery. Identify opportunities to add value or expand services, sharing insights with the commercial team. Support client meetings, proposals, and long-term partnership development.

Operational Excellence



Collaborate with internal teams across training, operations, and commercial functions. Provide feedback to enhance service delivery and integrated safety solutions. Support bids, proposals, and project mobilisation with technical expertise. Champion Shoal's values, behaviours, and people-first approach at all times.
Who are we looking for to fulfil this Senior Safety Partner & Specialist role:

An experienced Health & Safety professional with strong advisory capability. A confident and competent trainer, ideally with CPD-recognised delivery experience. A qualified Rescue Technician (confined space, work at height, and/or emergency response). An excellent communicator able to build trust at all organisational levels. Someone who thrives in a varied, hands-on role and takes pride in operational excellence. A natural ambassador for safety leadership and Shoal's people-first culture.
Experience required for this Senior Safety Partner & Specialist role:

Proven experience in a senior or advisory Health & Safety role. Experience delivering professional or accredited training programmes. Operational rescue experience within high-risk environments. Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
