About us

Two Skies Ltd is a small, family-owned business now celebrating 20 years of trading on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. We design and manufacture our own unique gemstone jewellery, which we sell alongside an array of ethically sourced crystals and fossils. Scottish stones are our specialty. Our cosy shop attracts a diverse range of shoppers; from those seeking high-end bespoke pieces, to tourists picking up souvenirs.

Shop Opening Hours

Our shop is open seven days a week.

There will be 5 out of 7 days, where shift lengths may vary. During the summer peak season our shop is open from 9am until 10pm every day of the week; therefore, evening and weekend flexibility is required on a rota basis.

About the role

Experience in the jewellery and gemstone sector is not essential, but information about our products and procedures will need to be memorised quickly during training. Previous retail experience would be desirable. You must be a friendly, confident, enthusiastic and well-presented individual with superior organisational skills and an eye for detail. You will be a key holder and responsible for opening and closing our shop on a rotational basis.

There is likely to be a good deal of independent and lone working, therefore, a reliable and conscientious character is essential.

You should also be a self-starter, motivated and with a strong work ethic. Typical duties will include; Assisting customers and advising them on product selection; providing the highest possible levels of service. Processing cash and card payments, recording sales and balancing registers. Assembling and maintaining displays. Keeping the premises tidy, clean and ready to always run smoothly. Assisting with stock control and ordering of materials. Assisting to price and sort merchandise. Maintaining high levels of productivity and professionalism at all times.

Essential requirements

Fluent in the English language. Ability to reliably commute to EH1 1SR. Able to lift, carry and put away stock (training given). Daily use of stone staircase.
