Senior Sales Manager
to join our expanding team and play a vital role in driving our commercial success in 2025 and beyond.
Role Overview
As a
Senior Sales Manager
, you will play a critical leadership role in developing and executing sales strategies, managing a high-performing team, and driving growth in the oil heating sector. Reporting to senior leadership, you will oversee 2-3 Sales or Project Managers and lead nationwide business development initiatives while ensuring excellent customer service and operational alignment.
This is a field-based role requiring travel across the UK to meet clients, provide tailored on-site solutions, and represent the company in high-value negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Sales Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.
Analyse market trends and sales data to forecast performance and identify opportunities.
Set clear sales targets for individuals and the wider team; track progress and ensure accountability.
2.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sales Managers and Representatives.
Foster a high-performance culture rooted in company values such as respect, accountability, and excellence.
Recruit, onboard, and train new sales team members.
Conduct regular performance reviews and implement performance improvement plans where needed.
3.
Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Handle high-value sales negotiations and close strategic deals.
Resolve complex customer issues and implement Non-Conformance Report (NCR) actions effectively.
4.
Reporting & Analysis
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using SM8 tools and internal systems.
Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior leadership.
Identify process inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives.
5.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product development, operations, and customer service teams to align sales strategy with service delivery.
Collaborate with marketing to identify promotional opportunities and enhance brand awareness.
Liaise with finance and accounts to ensure sustainable pricing and budget management.
6.
Market Expansion & Business Development
Identify and pursue new markets, customer segments, and commercial opportunities.
Lead initiatives for launching new services or expanding into new regions.
Provide on-site customer consultations, advice, and quotations tailored to individual needs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the fuel, heating, or industrial services sectors.
Strong leadership and team management experience.
Skilled negotiator with a customer-first approach.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Full, clean UK driving licence.
