We have had an exciting position released within our Formulation Product Development team based from the Ware site. We’re actively looking for an individual who has a background within formulation to support drug development for new cutting-edge patient focused medicines. As the successful candidate your role within the team will be varied and very much ‘no two days are the same’, where you’ll be designing and conducting experiments, analysing and presenting data and working on high priority projects cross-functionally within the team. This position will give you the chance to work with both R&D and commercial manufacturing teams. Your responsibilities This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include utilising technical skills and expertise to develop drug product formulation and associated manufacturing process as part of the Pharmaceutical Development Oral & Inhaled group. Conducting duties as listed below:

  • Executes formulation and process development activities based on established protocols and procedures
  • Assists in the manufacture of batches of product as required, e.g. for process development, stability studies or clinical trials
  • Coordinates own activities within the team and with analytical and manufacturing representatives to meet project deliverables
  • Works with Drug Product Workstream to align and execute formulation and process development activities including authoring or contributing to manufacturing batch records
  • Identify and interpret any problems in the execution of experimental processes and/or in results and communicates them to his/her supervisor
  • Operates equipment and anticipates/recognizes potential problems with equipment and/or supplies, and proposes/initiates action to solve or prevent problems
  • Works to GMP
  • Performs data management tasks including recording results effectively and in compliance with departmental guidelines
  • Prepares oral or written summaries of results with interpretation for project work
Why you? Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • Honours degree or equivalent in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other scientific disciplines, or working towards relevant qualification
  • Is technically competent in a number of formulation/process development techniques
  • Demonstrates competence and experience in proper handling, recording and analyzing scientific experimental data
  • Has good knowledge of GMP requirements
  • Has operational knowledge of routine laboratory/plant equipment
  • Understands the basic principles, concepts and methodology governing the work performed
Preferred Qualifications & Skills: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Can performs literature searches independently and understands scientific literature directly related to his/her experiments
  • Can learn and apply new experimental techniques
  • Has basic knowledge about regulatory requirements for oral solid dose forms
