Senior / Semi-Senior Accountant

A growing, people-focused accountancy practice is looking to welcome a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant to its Peterborough team. The firm supports a diverse client base across the region and is known for encouraging internal progression, fostering a collaborative environment, and offering strong support for professional development.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, wants to build their technical expertise, and is keen to guide junior colleagues as they develop.

Role Responsibilities

Preparing management accounts for a range of clients. Producing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Completing VAT returns and assisting clients with related queries. Preparing corporation tax computations and personal tax returns. Working with cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero and QuickBooks (training available). Responding to day-to-day client queries in a clear and supportive manner. Offering guidance and informal mentoring to trainees within the team.

Personal Requirements

AAT-qualified, or equivalent experience within an accountancy practice. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to consistently high-quality work. Experience preparing accounts and tax returns within practice. An interest in working towards ACA or ACCA, or already studying. Confident communicator with a proactive, professional approach. Enjoys learning, problem-solving and supporting team members.
