Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Mentor to lead on staff support and supervision, oversee programme delivery, and tutor young people to improve their numeracy and literacy skills. This role is central to maintaining high standards of mentoring and educational progress, with additional responsibilities as a Mental Health Advocate across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities



Staff Support & Supervision



Conduct regular formal and informal supervision sessions with mentoring staff. Provide guidance, support, and reflective practice opportunities to ensure staff wellbeing and professional development. Explore and identify training needs in collaboration with the Business Development Manager. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. Programme

Delivery & EHCP Management



Oversee the delivery and development of mentoring programmes to ensure effectiveness and alignment with student needs. Manage pupil Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring sound progress and target achievement. Monitor entry and exit assessments, providing documentation to evidence this. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes and adapt delivery strategies accordingly.

Tutoring & Academic Support



Deliver targeted tutoring sessions to improve students' numeracy and literacy skills, focusing on KS3 & KS4 curriculum expected outcomes. Work closely with mentors and educational staff to identify learning gaps and implement tailored interventions. Track academic progress and contribute to educational planning. Manage the range of facilities offered to support students and their families through Turn2 Mentoring programme delivery. Assist the SENDCo in ensuring accelerated progress for all students. Support exam access arrangements as and when required.

Mental Health Advocacy



Act as a Mental Health Advocate, promoting wellbeing initiatives for staff and young people. Support the integration of mental health awareness into mentoring practices.

Compliance & Record Keeping



Maintain accurate and timely records in line with Safeguarding and Data Protection policies. Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.

Collaboration & Reporting



Meet monthly with the Business Development Manager to review progress, share insights, and contribute to strategic planning. Support cross-functional collaboration to enhance service delivery. Liaise with staff, professionals and parents to support student engagement, progress and attendance. Conduct regular check-ins with parents/ carers, (minimum once a month) Conduct home visits as part of initial referral process, establishing the child or young person's needs and desired outcomes. Share the ethos and commitment of Turn2 Mentoring with the family, making them aware of our Code of Conduct and expectations. Foster a strong working relationship.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 33,000.00-34,000.00 per year
