SEO Consultant with link building expertise and management experience

About the Role



This is a

hybrid senior SEO role

with three key pillars:

High-Level SEO Consultancy

Link Building Strategy and Execution

Team Management and Client Leadership


You'll be directly responsible for the strategy, performance, and growth of a portfolio of SEO clients. You'll craft high-impact SEO roadmaps, lead outreach and digital PR campaigns, and manage a small in-house and freelance team to deliver best-in-class results.

We're not looking for someone to "do a bit of SEO" and send out a few outreach emails. We're looking for a confident, proactive SEO leader who knows how to

plan, execute, and manage end-to-end SEO campaigns

Key Responsibilities1. SEO Consultancy & Strategy



Audit, design, and lead advanced SEO strategies tailored to each client's goals Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or similar Oversee on-page optimisation, keyword mapping, content briefs, and content strategies Use data to uncover organic growth opportunities and reduce cannibalisation and waste Collaborate with developers, designers, and content teams to implement SEO fixes and improvements Provide high-level insights and reports to clients using GA4, Looker Studio, and SEMrush/Ahrefs

2. Link Building & Authority Growth



Plan and execute high-quality, white-hat link building campaigns (no PBNs or spam here) Develop scalable outreach systems for securing backlinks from authoritative domains Build relationships with journalists, bloggers, and publishers to earn coverage and links Manage digital PR campaigns in collaboration with freelance writers and designers Ensure all link activity adheres to Google's quality guidelines and contributes to long-term rankings

3. Client and Team Management



Act as the main point of contact for key client accounts - lead calls, set goals, and deliver reports Manage a small team of SEO execs and outreach specialists (in-house and freelance) Deliver internal training and mentor junior staff to grow in technical and creative SEO Track performance KPIs, budgets, and ROI across all SEO activity Help drive the agency's growth with your ideas, leadership, and expertise

What We're Looking For



This role is ideal for a

highly experienced SEO professional

who's confident taking the reins, working independently, and delivering consistent results.

Essential Experience



6+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency or in-house) Demonstrated success in growing organic traffic and revenue for multiple clients Proven experience building high-quality backlinks through ethical methods Strong technical SEO skills: crawling, indexing, schema, CWV, sitemaps, etc. Confident with GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and other key tools Comfortable leading calls, writing proposals, and managing expectations with clients Experience managing people or teams, setting priorities, and driving results

Bonus Points For



Experience with digital PR and reactive link-building campaigns Prior agency-side management experience Comfortable working across multiple CMSs including WordPress, Shopify, and Webflow Knowledge of affiliate SEO, eCommerce SEO, or international SEO Familiarity with CRO, UX, and conversion funnels
