KD Residential Care is looking for Senior Shift Care Workers to join our children's home in Clacton-on-Sea, Essex.

Job Summary
The Senior Shift Care Worker plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people within our residential home, This position involves leading by example, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring that care practices meet regulatory standards and the individual needs of each child. The role requires a compassionate individual with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of child development, and experience in residential childcare settings.
Key Responsibilities Care and Support
Provide direct care and supervision to children and young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.Promote a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the well-being and development of each child.
Leadership and Team Support
Assist in the supervision and mentoring of Residential Care Workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Lead shifts, ensuring effective delegation of tasks and responsibilities.
Support the management team in maintaining high standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Safeguarding and Compliance
Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures, reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate authorities.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with organisational and regulatory standards.
Communication and Collaboration
Work collaboratively with colleagues, external professionals, and families to support the best interests of the children and young people.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities.
Communicate effectively with children and young people, adapting
communication styles to meet individual needs.
Additional Responsibilities
Support the management team during inspections and audits.
Participate in the on-call rota as required.
Undertake any other duties consistent with the role as directed by management.
Remuneration
14.50/hour (day shifts)
15.00/hour (night shifts)
15.50/hour (Weekend day shifts)
16.50/hour (Weekend night shifts)
