At Moonreach, we deliver residential childcare services in a 3-bed home in Farnley, Leeds for children aged 7 to 18.

We are a family-owned business who have developed a brand recognised and respected for delivering high quality services in all our homes. Since opening in South East Kent in 2010, we have grown steadily and are excited to now be looking for a committed individual with recent, relevant experience to join our team as a Senior Shift Leader for our home in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

The Role

As a Senior Shift Leader, you will need to have good knowledge and experience of the law and practice relating to children in care and have strong operational skills to manage the work and team efficiently and effectively as well as the expertise required to ensure homes are run on a sound financial and practical basis.

You will have at least three years' experience relevant to residential care and will need to demonstrate your experience of supervising and managing professional staff. This role would suit either an existing Senior Shift Leader or an individual with demonstrable experience that's looking to take the next step in their career in Residential Childcare.

You will also have a recognised social care or professional qualification relevant to working with children to at least diploma 3 Residential Child Care (or equivalent).

Specific Requirements

Willingness to undertake further training and development 3 years relevant experience A demonstrable high level of performance in record keeping and organisational experience A well-rounded understanding of the social, cultural, physical and emotional needs of children, particularly those who exhibit behaviours of concern. The ability to motivate children through social and leisure activities and support them in developing personal & social skills Ability to work on own initiative and objectively in a sometimes-pressured environment Ability to manage and supervise staff Strong written and verbal communication skills A commitment to join the 7-day rota system including a minimum of 2 sleep in shifts per week Be able to identify your own training and personal development needs. Due to current Ofsted regulations, all applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old
Due to the complete nature of the care we provide, we operate a 7 day-a-week rota system (which includes bank holidays) and our senior shift leaders will also be required to commit to the on-call rota.

Salary: 34k - 37k (based on a fixed hourly, sleep-in and on call rate)
