Cake Industries design, engineer, fabricate and make beautiful things; from sculpture, bridges and staircases to cabinetry and pavilions. Working with the finest materials and taking a design-focused approach to all projects, we work with architects, designers, artists and contractors to bring concepts to life.
We are currently looking for an experienced site installer, able to operate at a senior level, to join our team. The successful applicant must have experience of both working with timber and steel structures, an ability to solve problems and work in a leadership role with our site team. Attention to detail, knowledge of working on large construction sites and a serious approach to health and safety are all essential qualities for this role.
Role
Installation on site of steel and timber staircases, sculpture and pavilions
Use of appropriate lifting equipment where manual handling is not possible
Leadership of a small group of installers to ensure projects are installed smoothly and safely
Liaising with workshop team, project managers and client representatives during installations, and delegating tasks and processes to the team.
Understanding setting out, part and installation drawings
Maintaining accuracy and quality of work
Maintaining the highest levels of H&S and adhering to site specific regulations, including managing risk assessments & method statements, lift plans and hot works applications on site.
Organisation and loading/unloading of tools and materials from a delivery vehicles
You will uphold high standards of craft and workmanship, demonstrating awareness of quality management across varying projects and contexts from structural fabrication to detailed metalworking.
You will have a positive attitude and enjoy problem solving within a creative and collaborative environment.
You will ensure that that your own work is carried out efficiently
PPE and specific training will be provided where required/necessary
You will report to the Operations Director.
Salary
Based on experience and competence but expected to be in the range 46,000-55,000, with opportunities for this to grow with the business.
Job Type
Permanent, 5 days a week. A salaried package including annual leave and statutory benefits.
Essential skills
