What You Will Do:
- Conduct Assessments: Undertake detailed statutory assessments to evaluate the needs and circumstances of children and their families, ensuring comprehensive care planning.
- Intervention Planning: Formulate and execute effective care and intervention plans, ensuring that all actions taken are timely and impactful.
- Safeguarding: Detect and address any safeguarding concerns, collaborating with child protection teams to secure the wellbeing of children.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Cooperate with various partners including health professionals, educational institutions, and law enforcement to offer holistic support services.
- Case Management: Ensure all case records are accurate and compliant with statutory and procedural guidelines, maintaining high standards of documentation.
- Court Work: Prepare comprehensive reports and diligently represent the team in family court proceedings.
- Mentoring and Support: Guide junior social workers, sharing expertise and aiding in their professional development to foster a strong, capable team.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond proactively to urgent situations, prioritising child safety and enabling prompt, effective intervention.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work (BA, MA, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Substantial experience in children and families social work, especially in assessment and intervention.
- Thorough understanding of child protection legislation and court processes.
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle pressure and manage workloads efficiently.
- A DBS check and satisfactory references are prerequisites for this role.
