About the Role:
We're recruiting for a
Senior Social Worker
to join Walsall Council's Children in Need team. This role starts as part-time (22.5 hours per week) with the expectation to move to full-time (37 hours) as maternity cover from the end of July. The position offers a
hybrid working model
-- up to 3 days in the office and some remote working flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a small caseload of children in need
Provide reflective supervision to the family support worker
Support the team manager and chair meetings
Carry out statutory visits and maintain accurate records
Complete life journey work for children in care
Mentor and support newer team members
Communicate effectively across teams and with external partners
What you'll need:
Proven experience working with Children in Need (CIN) social work experience in children's services in line with DfE guidelines (please confirm this on your cover sheet -- applications without this information will be rejected)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to provide reflective supervision and support colleagues
Social Work England registration (desirable)
