Senior Java Developer - Greenfield Trading Platform (VP Level)

Glasgow | Hybrid (2 days in office)

A leading global financial institution is hiring a senior Java developer to join a lean, high-performing team building a brand-new electronic trading platform from the ground up.

You'll play a key role in shaping the orchestration and integration layer of this greenfield platform--critical infrastructure supporting real-time Rates trading. The team is small, technically strong, and backed at the highest levels of the business. This is a VP-level role, not focused on people management but on being a go-to technical authority.

What You'll Do

Design and implement performant Java code for real-time trading systems Contribute to architectural decisions and integration strategies Lead by example in code reviews and technical guidance Mentor junior engineers and take ownership of technical delivery

What We're Looking For

Strong core Java skills (multithreading, concurrency, performance) Proven experience in real-time systems Background contributing to architecture in complex environments Bonus: experience in trading systems, orchestration/integration layers
