The Opportunity
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll take the lead in designing and building serverless, event-driven solutions using modern AWS architecture. This is your opportunity to shape best practices, mentor peers, and play a key role in scaling systems that support millions of customers - all while driving technical direction in a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
You'll join us on a salary starting of at least 72,000 per annum, with potential for an annual bonus. This is a hybrid role, with the flexibility to work from home alongside attending one of our offices - in either #London, #Hove or #Exeter - once per month, or more frequently if you prefer.
From cloud-based technology to collaborative pair programming, EDF will support your growth across the full stack - alongside AWS vouchers and opportunities to mentor junior engineers and participate in hackathons, Dev Days, and industry seminars.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Software Engineer who thrives on collaboration, teamwork, and innovation. For this Senior Software Engineer role, you need to offer demonstrable experience in...

• Building applications from conception to delivery and supportability
• Front-end and back-end serverless AWS capabilities
• Conceptional design, working with UI/UX on components
• Commercial React frameworks - React Native and TypeScript, or equivalent
• Using Terraform or an equivalent infrastructure as code tool
• At least one server-side language, such as Python/Node.js
• RESTful and GraphQL APIs, including the integration of third-party APIs

• Taking ownership of a solution feature set or capability
• Mentoring and supporting your peers
• Creating well-designed, testable code to enable automated testing and deployment
• Utilising continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) techniques in software development
• Integrating software components into the broader functional and technical solution landscape, using common standards and patterns
